Holy piles of dirty diapers, Batman! The earliest they could be discharged is 35 weeks - which is next Monday. If things continue to go as well as they are, they could very well be coming home at any point between 35 and 36 weeks! Hang on to your binkies, boys - Mommy and Daddy start discharge training tomorrow! Lots of videos to watch on infant CPR (so we'll never need it), caring for preemies at home, bringing your preemies home.... and we're ready for it! I think... Jacob was a breast-feeding champ today! Managed to latch on and even take about 10cc's in before he zonked out in Mommy's arms! Latching is hard work...
This new open crib is pretty fabulous! We can reach in and actually touch them, not slam our fingers into the clear plastic wall separating them from the outside world! I think they'll enjoy it, too - I got a pretty cool video of their "twinspeak" today, just before they were taken out of their open isolette for the last time. *sniffle*
Weights and wipedowns again this evening! Jacob is now just over 4 lbs, his brother is at 4 lbs, 1 1/2 ounces! The gap continues to close, now only about 30 grams separates them! Daddy changed so many poopy diapers today, it was just unreal. Had my first near blow-out, too! I guess Aidan didn't like his onesie, because he pooped all over it... foul stuff. Eww! Even more fun and challenging was getting it off of him without spreading the "wealth."
*(Note to self: Don't make inappropriate joke, don't make inappropriate joke, don't make inappropriate joke...)* Um, Bermuda sounds nice! Kind of a long commute though! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's such exciting news! Now the mad scramble to get yourselves to feel ready begins! And yes, every time you take a CPR class it's so you'll never need to use it! So happy & excited for you guys again! :)
P.S. Is it just my iPod being a jerk? (Probably) When I try to play the imbedded video it crashes safari...guess I'll try a couple work arounds!
