Wow, it was harder than I had expected to be away from our boys. They had a good night, no issues. Amy had more pain last night than she did the nights in the hospital, but at least she was able to get some good rest, too.
We were so excited to be back in Eugene with our kiddos! Went straight to the hospital with Nana following from Newport! They looked great! I swear, they smile when they see us. Aidan charmed his Nana today - she got to hold him for the first time! I'm sure they had many heart to heart talks and shared more than a few grins. We got some great pictures. Next time, Nana and Jacob will get better acquainted.
Jacob has his oxygen off! They are trialing him on room air off his "HHNP" (high humidity nasal prongs)! If he does well they'll stay off. If it looks like he's working too hard to breathe, they'll put them back on. Better to put his energy toward growing than working to breathe!
They've also added fortitfier to their milk to increase the amount of calories they get from their feeds. All towards growth! Their poops are also less sticky and meconium-y, now more greeny with the fortifier. Yum.
11:45pm - The boys are both off oxygen! They moved the chair from Jacob's room to Aidan's so we could all sit together as a family! This weekend, we are hoping they continue to thrive off the supplemental oxygen so they can eventually room in the same isolette together! Other things on the horizon - bath tomorrow night, and clothes!!!
