Mr. Aidan with Nana
"I see you..." Jacob
Today mommy and nana headed to see the boys again. Mommy had an appointment to see her doctor to check her blood pressure. So glad the doctor's office and the babies are in the same place! Before the appointment we stopped by the boys' room so mommy could pump and we could say hi. When we walked in we noticed that Jacob's umbilical cord stump had fallen off! Ahhhhh....they are growing up too fast! They were under the lights again sunning themselves but their doctor is hoping that today will be the last day. When mommy was done we took off to go to the doctor. Mom's blood pressure is getitng better so the doctor stopped the nifedipine dose and will recheck again on Monday. We then enjoyed some lunch in the hospital cafeteria before heading for an afternoon of baby happiness! The boys were so happy to see us...so happy they promptly fell asleep as soon as they were in our arms. They like to do that...as much as I want to see them awake, it makes mommy happy to know they are so content when they are being held. Nana had a good time talking with Aidan and singing songs to him while mommy rocked Jacob. The lactation nurse also came in to visit and talked about how mommy can decrease her milk supply so the boys can get the good stuff when they are able to start nursing. Imagine that...too much milk? How does that happen? According to all the nurses it doesn't happen often and I am thankful I can give the boys what they need to grow up big and strong. Mom has so much milk we even talked about being able to donate some to help the other babies in the NICU. What an honor! Would love to make that kind of difference for the babies that need it!

I love reading about them! Thank you for keeping us updated. We can't wait to meet them!
ReplyDeleteSounds like one of the best days ever!! That would be amazing to be able to be a donor to help other babies/families too. You're such a rock star, chica!
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying this daily reports.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a wonderful gift to be able to fully breastfeed the early-born. They will do so much better than Formula-fed baby. You two are amazing parents!
Sachiko :)
I look forward every morning to reading this. Am so glad my babies are doing so well. Continue to pray for the whole family.
