After successfully naming our boys around midnight last night, we sent emails out to all the family to announce it before making it "Facebook official" this morning! And the interesting thing is, when we came back to the room after naming them and Amy was pumping again, her milk came in!! All the nurses are amazed at how much she's producing, considering she had them so early. Go Amy!!
The boys continue to fluorish. They are still weaning their IV fluids, hopefully off in the next couple of days, and increasing their feeds, which they are tolerating quite well. They are also maintaining their body temperatures quite beautifully, considering how little "insulation" they have! They've been intermittently on and off the bili-lights, depending on how high their bilirubin levels are, but we expect this in preemies and are not concerned.
I went out to Target today to get some super snacks for Amy, whose appetite has gone into overdrive. I've become so accustomed to her eating so very little that it's been a huge change to see her ravenous, even at 2am! While out, I went to Kohl's to get something for her and for the babies - what do you get for the woman whose just given you the keys to the universe?! For the babies, Pooh and Piglet, because they are the best of friends... we will use them as a point of comparison to track their growth.
The only bit of bad news we got today was that Amy's mom, who was planning to fly in on Thursday, has the flu and won't be able to fly in as planned. :( But she will be here just as soon as she can to meet with her new grandsons! Feel better, Grandma Lynne!!
