Today mommy traveled alone to see the boys! When she arrived they were happily napping together in their bed. Mommy loves to see them together and happy. One of them always has to be touching the other in some way. Every stretch means finding a new place on brother to touch to feel safe. Mommy loves when they are awake and alert. They seem to be awake a lot more this week and all the nurses are amazed at how wide eyed they are.

"Oh look, a chicken!"
"What's a chicken?" |
It was hard for mommy to leave for the night but she was excited to see the boys and get to spend time with them. When she arrived at the hospital she must have been a little preoccupied. While trying to park the car she was watching the car next to her and neglected to see the giant cement pole on the other side and ended up scraping the side of daddy's car ;0( It was not a good way to start the visit. Mommy was so glad when she walked in the room and saw the boys together. That seemed to make everything better.
The boys continue to grow and work on nursing. Mommy tried nursing each boy twice while she was visiting. Each time the boys latch on 2-5 times and then are exhausted. It is strange to imagine how much work it is to latch on for their little bodies. Mommy can not wait for the day that they are able to nurse and they don't get worn out by it ;0)

"Are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
Zzzzz...... |
As of Wednesday Aidan is 3lbs 7.5 oz (and yes the .5 is necessary!) and Jacob is 3lbs 3oz. So happy that they are growing and thriving. Everyone is amazed at their progress. They are happy little guys who can't wait to meet all of their family and friends.

| Aidan's cool feetie PJs! |
Mommy stayed in the guest house on Tuesday night and spent the day on Wednesday hanging out with the boys and nursing again. One of her greatest joys is having them both happy and content in her arms. Daddy has a long weekend this weekend so we'll be headed back Thursday night and stay until Sunday. Grandma Lynne flies in on Saturday so she'll be around to help mommy next week as well.
Two things: cars are fixable (and I'm sure that cement pole totally jumped in your way anyway!), and yes, that .5 is completely necessary!! Every little bit counts. Yay, Aidan & Jacob! :)
ReplyDeleteOmg, the photos make it all even better! Perfect captions! And how much do I love Aidan's feetie PJ's?? :)
