The boys new SWEEEEEEEEEET ride!

Bachelorhood is now a thing of the past.  Gavin has officially done his "daddy duty" and given up his Mazda for a Honda Odyssey minivan.  The reality of traveling with 2 boys, 2 girls, 2 dogs and all of the paraphernalia that goes with it has set in and we purchased a minivan last night.  Now don't get me wrong, it is SWEEEEEEEEEET, but it is still a minivan.  And he still had to give up his bachelor car that he has had for the past 9 years.  He will now get the privilege (I am biased) of driving the Honda Pilot I used to drive and I will get the minivan (I am going to see how many times I write "minivan" in this post).  I am excited about it...lots of room, navigation system, back up camera, bluetooth, and all the other bells and whistles I will probably never use but sold Gavin with the model.  We looked at both the Odyssey and the Toyota Sienna but after test driving both, we fell in love with the Odyssey.  So now as I sit here and write this post I am dreaming of all the places I can drive it to today.....Fred Meyer, Wal Mart or Gavin's office.  The possibilities are endless!  As for the boys, they did great on our last minute drive to Eugene to get the van.  We packed up the kiddos into the Mazda and headed to Eugene about 2:30.  When we arrived at 5 we needed to change and feed the boys.  We forgot the bottle warmer in the Pilot and soon found out the boys DO NOT like cold milk.  Thankfully our poor single, no kids, salesman was nice enough to bring us a cup of hot water to warm the boys' bottles and they enjoyed their food while we learned about each van.  We were able to take each car out with the boys to get their opinion on their new SWEEET ride.  We were hoping that the salesguy would babysit the boys while we took the car out...but then maybe we wouldn't come back ;0)  I am sure that we provided a good dose of birth control for our salesguy Austin during our 5 hour stay at the dealership.  They were troopers though....ate while dad was signing finance papers and all!  Overall they were pleased with their new ride, mom is excited and dad is...slowly coming around. :0)

  1. Minivan, minivan, minivan! ;)

Also, my parents' car has a navigation system with a back up camera - it's awesome! I might actually parallel park ever if I had one. But then, my bar is set pretty low - I'm just happy that my passenger-side window & radio are both working again!
