So last Friday was they boys "black Friday"....they were circumcised ;0(  It was so hard to have to wait and get it done now that they are bigger but they wouldn't do it until after their due date since they were premature.  I knew it was the right thing to do but I was definitely having second thoughts about it before we went to the doctors office.  What if they remembered it?  What if it hurt and they knew what was happening?  Would they ever forgive us???  As irrational as all of this sounds, I still thought about it.  Gavin assured me that they would not feel it happening but they would be crying because they would be strapped down.  I trusted him (he has done a few circumsisions...to say the least) and I knew it would benefit they boys in the long run so we went through with it.  Their doctor explained the procedure to us and I was once again reassured everything would be fine.  They took Jacob first and dad followed him in while I stayed with Aidan.  At first, I thought I was brave enough to stay in the room while the procedure was taking place but as I approached the door and saw poor Jacob strapped to the table screaming, I ran the other way.  I knew that he was in good hands and daddy was there with them.  After a bit, Jacob and daddy came in the room and all went well.  Now it was time for Aidan.  His circumcision took a bit longer due to his hernia but he slept through most of it.  I was so relieved when they were both done and we were headed home.  I was afraid of the days to come, thinking that they would be in pain but I was "pleasantly" surprised with how little it affected them.  Thank goodness!

The following Wednesday we packed up and drove to Portland to pick up the girls for Thanksgiving!  When we got tho the airport we decided that I would go to the gate to get the girls while Gavin and the boys stayed in the terminal so we wouldn't have to all go through security.  After grabbing a snack at the Beaverton Bakery stand I headed to the gate.  Gavin enjoyed walking around the terminal getting ooohs and ahhhs from everyone admiring the boys.  One older man even come up to him, peaked at the boys and then patted him on the shoulder and told him "good job'!  ;0) Once we got the girls, we headed onto our afternoon adventure. Sam was asked to the winter formal on Sunday and we needed to find her a dress. I was excited to take her to find one...but not expecting the boys would have "other" plans for us.  Seems they don't like to shop like their dad.  After leaeving the airport we headed for lunch at Red Robin and then went to the nearest mall in search of the perfect dress.  Of course, it being the day before Thanksgiving, traffic was a MESS!  When we finally made it to the mall we were on a mission....JC Penny, Macy's and done!  She did find a dress in JC Penny that she liked but we went to Macy's to make sure it was the one she wanted.  Even before we got out of the store Gavin was already holding Aidan and Jacob was getting fussy.  One of us always had to be moving the stroller so that they wouldn't cry.  We  juggled the babies to Macy's where Sam found another dress that she liked better.  After 2 diaper changes and trying on 4 dresses, Sam was happy with her decision and we headed out.  We stopped at a store to get shoes, Katie got some boots and a vest and then the boys made it VERY clear to us that they were done.  We ran out to the van in the rain and the boys began howling!  They were hungry!  Luckily, once the van started moving they quieted down and we were able to begin our journey home.  Traffic....on the other hand had other ideas for us. Took us a bit longer because of the holiday travel but we made it safe and sound and without much crying on the way home.

Our Thanksgiving was fairly quiet.  Had a great dinner made by Gavin, watched Christmas movies and the Thanksgiving Day Parade.  The boys got to begin using the Christmas gift that Grandma Lynne got them; their Bumbo seats!  We put them in the seats and they were able to hold their heads up enough to enjoy being in them.  It was CRAZY to see them sitting up like big boys!  We didn't think they would be able to use them until after Christmas but once again they proved us wrong.  It was a great day of chilling out with the family and really understanding all the things we are thankful for.

Our favorite turkeys!

Bumbo Boys!
